Dean

Summary of Duties

Marywood University invites applicants for the position of Dean of the Insalaco College of Creative and Performing Arts. We seek an experienced visionary academic leader who will foster excellence in teaching, research, grantsmanship, scholarly activity, and determination to lead a dynamic and growing College.

The Dean provides strategic, entrepreneurial, and visionary leadership; and is responsible for academic, fiscal and personnel matters. The Dean represents the College within the University and at regional, national, and international levels. The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in teaching, research, and scholarship; in procuring grants; and in accreditation of professional programs.

 

The Insalaco College of Creative and Performing Arts, one of four Colleges, supports undergraduate and graduate programs in Art – graphic design, illustration, clay, sculpture, painting, photography, arts administration, art education, and art therapy; Music, Theatre and Dance – music education, music therapy, music performance, secondary 7-12 teacher certification, arts administration, theatre arts, musical theatre, and theatre education; Communication Arts – advertising and public relations, digital media, and broadcast journalism.

 

Founded by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic institution of more than 3,400 students, committed to the integration of liberal arts and professional studies in the context of ethical and religious values. Marywood is located in a residential area of Scranton in Northeastern Pennsylvania, with convenient access to the Pocono Mountains.       The candidate must hold an earned doctorate or terminal degree in a discipline within the college.

    • Work Experience Requirements:

      The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in teaching, research, and scholarship; in procuring grants; and in accreditation of professional programs.
