Marketing & Communications

Web Content Director

Hours:

35 hrs. per wk, 52 wks per yr.

8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Summary of Duties

Oversee all University website content (written, graphical, video, and audio content representing the University) and manage new and emerging media related to marketing the University via the web. The director will ensure that the University publishes on its website clear, consistent, up-to-date, user-centered content that reflects the editorial and graphical standards of the University in the context of the Marywood University Mission and Core Values. The director will work with the Web Developer and content editors in all departments to ensure consistency in Web content that reflects the University’s marketing platform. The director will have a leadership role on the Web Management Committee, working regularly with a team of University employees to manage and develop Web procedures and to recommend policy for Web usage.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Information Services, or related field.

  • Work Experience Requirements:

    Two years in web writing and marketing. Experience in higher education, and training and managing
    writers/editors in web environment preferred.

  • Essential Elements:

    Excellent written and oral communications, with particular competence in writing, grammar, and style, and proven ability to write web-ready content. Must be creative and pragmatic, very well-organized, and capable of managing content development and a large number of content editors in a rapidly changing environment. Able to act as a co-coordinator, facilitator, coach, and web resource for the institution. Aware of The Core Values and Mission of Marywood University.
