Office Assistant and Room Scheduling Specialist, INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

Hours:

35 hrs. per wk, 52 wks per yr.

8:30 am to 4:30 pm (Employee is required to work other hours to accommodate open registration periods, orientation, staffing emergencies, etc.)

Summary of Duties

The Office Assistant/Room Scheduling Specialist is the individual responsible for the assignment of all classroom and other space for both rostered courses and individual reservations. The individual must feel comfortable working in a changing environment. S/he must maintain various academic records consistently and responsibly, dealing with volume in both a hard copy and electronic environment.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    At least one year’s college experience is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Work Experience Requirements:

    No specific experience in an academic administrative environment is required; however, experience as a college student is essential. Experience in a work environment with technological components is preferred.

  • Essential Elements:

    Employee must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. S/he must have a mature        approach to problem solving, knowing when to act and when to refer to a higher authority. The employee must understand and uphold regulations of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and must adhere to principles of records maintenance. Must be able to work independently with attention to detail.
