Assistant/Associate Professor of Education (Grades PK - 4)

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Education seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure track position beginning August, 2010.

The Department of Education is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development. The Education Department was established at the inception of Marywood University in 1915. Education facilities are located in the William G. McGowan Center for Professional Studies. The education programs are approved by Pennsylvania Department of Education and accredited by NCATE. Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania, easily accessible to Philadelphia, New York City and the Pocono accredited.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D.; experience teaching with PK-4; established research and scholarship record. Preference will be given to candidates who hold early childhood certification and who can teach a combination of early childhood and general methods courses for grades PK-4.

    Responsibilities include teaching and advising at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels; engaging in research and scholarly endeavors; mentor research for master's and doctoral level students; serve on dissertation committees; participate in external funding and grant opportunities; participate in service to the university, the discipline and local educational community
