Aquatics Director/Head Coach - Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving

Summary of Duties

Applications are invited for a new full-time Aquatics Director/Head Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach position. Primary responsibilities include: recruiting, scheduling and related administrative duties to launch a new NCAA Division III program. During the 2009-10 pre-competition year, the Head Coach will serve as a member of the Enrollment Management and the Athletics and Recreation staffs to prepare for the inaugural season in Fall 2010.  Additional primary duties are: oversight of planning and activities related to construction of a new natatorium (to be completed by November, 2010), selection of assistant coaches and planning and development of a comprehensive aquatics program for the University community. In the following year, the Aquatics Director/Head Coach will be a full-time staff member of the Athletics and Recreation Department and assume additional administrative duties.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    Minimum requirements include: a bachelor’s degree and three years of successful experience as an Aquatics Director/Swimming & Diving Coach, preferably at the university level; general knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and NCAA policies; strong interpersonal, planning and organizational abilities; and excellent oral and written communications skills. Appropriate certifications (i.e. American Red Cross Water Safety and Lifeguard Training Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Pool Operations and AED) are preferred. Technology competence and a driver’s license also are necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
