The Marywood University Department of Education seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure track position beginning August, 2010. This position opens in January 2010 as a one-semester non-tenure track appointment
Teaching and advising at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels; engaging in research and scholarly endeavors; mentor research for master's and doctoral level candidates; serve on dissertation committees; participate in external funding and grant opportunities; participate in service to the university, the discipline and local educational community.
The Department of Education is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development. The Education Department was established at the inception of Marywood University in 1915. Education facilities are located in the William G. McGowan Center for Professional Studies. The education programs are approved by Pennsylvania Department of Education and accredited by NCATE. Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania, easily accessible to Philadelphia, New York City, Pocono Mountains.
Educational:
Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D.; experience teaching special education within K-12; established research and scholarship record; teaching experience at the higher education level; certification in special education, early intervention or equivalent.
