Assistant/Associate Professor Communication Sciences and Disorders

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor for a tenure track position with rotating summer chair contract beginning August, 2010.

Responsibilities including teaching in the areas of child language and/or pediatric neurogenic/speech disorders as well as other core courses as determined by the needs of the department and supervising clinical practicum; engaging in research and scholarly endeavors; sharing responsibilities for departmental governance and service.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development. It offers a five-year program that includes a pre-professional phase (undergraduate) and professional phase (graduate) leading to a master's degree in speech-language pathology. The master's program in SLP is accredited by ASHA's Council on Academic Accreditation. A full service speech-language-hearing clinic is located in the McGowan Center for Professional Studies.

Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania, easily accessible to Philadelphia, New York City, Pocono Mountains.



Requirements

  • Educational:

    Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, A CCC-SLP, and PA state licensure (or eligibility).
