Assistant/Associate Professor Health and Physical Education

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Health and Physical Education seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor for a full time, tenure track appointment beginning August 2010.

Requirements

• Educational:

  Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. in Health and Physical Education or a related field, and hold teacher certification in physical education. The successful candidate will demonstrate research, scholarship, and have experience teaching at the college level. A background in exercise physiology or kinesiology is desirable. Applicants at the Associate level may be given the opportunity to serve as Department Chair.

  Duties will include teaching a variety of courses including elementary and secondary methods of physical education, adapted physical education, organization and administration, and/or activity-related classes. Opportunity to teach in the Doctoral program is available.

• Other Elements:

  The Department of Health and Physical Education offers three undergraduate majors: Physical Activity, Athletic Training (CAATE accredited) and Teacher Education as well as a graduate Kinesiology Program, and supports the Doctoral Program in Human Development, specifically in the Health Promotion track.
