Assistant Professor in Athletic Training

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Health and Physical Education seeks an Assistant Professor for a full time, tenure track appointment as the Director for a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program beginning August, 2010.

The Department of Health and Physical Education offers three undergraduate majors: Physical Activity, Athletic Training (CAATE accredited), and Teacher Education, as well as a graduate Kinesiology program, and supports the Doctoral Program in Human Development, specifically in the Health Promotion track.

Requirements

  • Educational:

    Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. in Athletic Training or related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate research, scholarship, and have experience in teaching at the college level. Expertise in therapeutic modalities, kinesiology and sport injury and rehabilitation is desirable. Previous experience in CAATE accredited athletic training program preferred. Minimum five years BOCATC certification and eligibility for Pennsylvania Certification is required.

    Duties will include teaching both athletic training courses and courses for all HPE majors. Opportunity to teach in the Doctoral program is available.
